Convergence by Shared Ancestry in Romance

Abstract In many cases of apparent contact-induced change the contribution genealogical correlation in language sample and its interaction with processes such as matter pattern replication are difficult to specify. order get a better sense relevance shared ancestry, we quantify similarity since late Middle Ages Romance Germanic languages data from selected grammatical domain (expression reflexivity). We compare their dynamics patterns two contact zones Europe, namely British Isles (Dedio et al., 2019) Balkans. Concerning signal, results indicate maintenance gain opposed loss Germanic. This hints at importance inherited states, time split common ancestor, subsequent developments. presume that these factors likely be origin increase observed for sampled varieties. While this result cannot generalized beyond specific case study presented here, basic approach will contribute understanding how contact, genealogy culture interact shaping linguistic similarity.

Identifying autism loci and genes by tracing recent shared ancestry.
To find inherited causes of autism-spectrum disorders, we studied families in which parents share ancestors, enhancing the role of inherited factors. We mapped several loci, some containing large, inherited, homozygous deletions that are likely mutations. The largest deletions implicated genes, including PCDH10 (protocadherin 10) and DIA1 (deleted in autism1, or c3orf58), whose level of express...
متن کاملA Genealogical Look at Shared Ancestry on the X Chromosome.
Close relatives can share large segments of their genome identical by descent (IBD) that can be identified in genome-wide polymorphism data sets. There are a range of methods to use these IBD segments to identify relatives and estimate their relationship. These methods have focused on sharing on the autosomes, as they provide a rich source of information about genealogical relationships. We hop...
متن کاملBiased gene transfer mimics patterns created through shared ancestry.
In phylogenetic reconstruction, two types of bacterial tyrosyl-tRNA synthetases (TyrRS) form distinct clades with many bacterial phyla represented in both clades. Very few taxa possess both forms, and maximum likelihood analysis of the distribution of TyrRS types suggests horizontal gene transfer (HGT), rather than an ancient duplication followed by differential gene loss, as the contributor to...
متن کاملShared ancestry between a newfound mole-borne hantavirus and hantaviruses harbored by cricetid rodents.
Discovery of genetically distinct hantaviruses in multiple species of shrews (order Soricomorpha, family Soricidae) and moles (family Talpidae) contests the conventional view that rodents (order Rodentia, families Muridae and Cricetidae) are the principal reservoir hosts and suggests that the evolutionary history of hantaviruses is far more complex than previously hypothesized. We now report on...
متن کاملAnalysis of Romance in Beighami\'s Darabnameh
For centuries, storytellers and scops recited epics and national, tribal, historical, and religious stories for people, through musical speeches. Some of these narrators wrote down what they recited, and some others dictated them for scribes to be recorded. Some kings and lords also had scops in their courts to recite the stories to scribes. One of the old, oral stories of Persian literature th...
